And the Oscar goes to... the Sanitaire
Tom Cruise and Reese Witherspoon were joined by the Group's very own Sanitaire at this year's Oscars. The always glamorous Sanitaire upright vacuum made its debut at the 79th annual Academy Awards show on February 25, 2007.
"We were thrilled to see Sanitaire in action during the Oscars," said Brad Hoare, senior marketing director, commercial brand.
Adding to the evening's humor, show host Ellen DeGeneres put the vacuum to use in the Kodak Theatre as the Hollywood pow-wow came to a close. Stars such as Gwenyth Paltrow and Penelope Cruz hoisted their feet up to make way for the innovative upright.
"I didn't know this was in the job description," said DeGeneres, as she showed off her domestic skills to the auditorium crowd, as well as the millions of people watching around the world. The commercial upright gave the performance of a lifetime.
Sanitaire was vacuum-couture chic next to all the fashionable celebrities by sporting a sleek red bag and donning chrome accessories. And, luckily for Ellen, Sanitaire is tough enough to take on the red carpet mess left behind by tinsel town's most acclaimed actors.
"The Sanitaire Commercial Upright has long been a gold standard for commercial-grade vacuums," said Hoare. "There is no better way to showcase its power and appeal than to use it during the most anticipated night in Hollywood."
With a big appearance at the Oscars, Sanitaire has experienced the spotlight. "This was a wonderful way for potential customers to see Sanitaire up-close and personal," Hoare said.
